About the Author
Irene Harand (1900-1975) was an Austrian leader,born a catholic in Vienna,who vigorously attacked the evils of Nazism,anti-semitism and religious intolerance and was honored by Israel for her efforts.The 1935 publication of Sein Kampf turned Harand into a declared enemy of the Third Reich.The book was banned by the nazis that year.When nazi Germany invaded Austria in 1938,Harand was lecturing in London.Her absence from Vienna saved her life.She emigrated to the United States soon after and lived there till she died in New York in 1975

Irene Harand's demolition of Hitler's Mein Kampf

First published in German under the title 'Sein Kampf' (i.e. 'His fight) this is a work of unique importance from a historical point of view since Irene Harand was one of the first Austrians to take issue with Hitler and Nazism in print. Her expose of the whole idea of racism in general and anti-semitism in particular, relying as it does on previous writings of others well qualified to expound on these subjects, is little short of masterly.
Her message, first published in 1935, tragically came too late, the Nazi storm was already raging. Her warning what would happen if Hitler was not stopped quickly, was never taken on board by those who might have done something about it, with the result that even her most dire predictions were finally exceeded by what actually happened..
